Virtual Networking Grants

COST has launched Virtual Networking Support and there are two options available:

1.           Virtual Mobility (VM) Grants aim at strengthening the existing networks by allowing scientists to foster collaboration in a virtual setting, to exchange knowledge, learn new techniques, disseminate Action results, etc. The successful applicant(s) will be selected by the STSM group to perform activities that do not necessarily require in-person presence. These activities may include surveys, questionnaires or preparation of protocols, virtual mentoring of activities that can generate capacity, build new skills, etc.

We have a maximum of 6 VM Grants available up to 1500 Euro per Grant maximum. Early Career Scientists and candidates from the Inclusiveness Target Countries (ITCs) will have priority in selection procedure, but all Action participants are encouraged to apply. Selection procedure is analog to STSM grants and it is an open call from now until 30/09/2021 (see attached template). The application shell be submitted in e-COST.

2.           Virtual Networking Support (VNS) Grant aim at promoting virtual collaboration to complement traditional ways of collaboration within the research and innovation communities. This grant intends to stimulate virtual collaboration among the members of a given Action by designating a Virtual Networking Support Manager to develop a virtual networking strategy for the Action in line with ENOVA objectives, deliverables and the COST Excellence and Inclusiveness Policy, take overall responsibility for Virtual Mobility Grants, their implementation & evaluation, and support the MC and Core Group in the discussions and planning of virtual events and collaboration activities.

Maximum 1 grant per Action per GP is allowed (up to 4,000 EUR per grant). This call is open from now until 15/06/2021 (see attached template). The evaluation of each submitted VNS grant application is performed by the Action’s MC. The successful applicant shall take the Virtual NetworkingSupport (VNS) Manager role in the COST Action. The grantee has 15 calendar days from the end of the Grant Period to submit a report to the Action Chair / the appointed Coordinator / Committee and to the Science Officer of the Action. The application shell be submitted in e-COST.

Both the VM and VNS activities needs to be completed before October 31 2021.
